Ademptis– The name given to the world by the extinct human race. Holds many wonders and dangers the only brave adventurers can survive. It is said that Ademptis has infinite possibilities and is a world that never ends. Many have tried to valiantly live in this world only to perish and turn into a decayed corpse.
Ademptis is home to numerous species, several of which are sentient and intelligent. Although they can still be hostile to whatever they come across, it is a result of being forced to adhere to Ademptis’ harsh standards. Many races that have tried to make their home in Ademptis have gone extinct, most notably the Human, Draconic, Avian, and Terrac races.
The flora of Ademptis can be equally intelligent, depending on the species. Although most types of flora are incredibly dangerous, even going as far to evolve into being dragon eaters. Most flora live static lives, although some have evolved to move positions and travel for to find new sources of sustenance.
The fauna of Ademptis, aside from the sentient species, can be very dangerous, should they be provoked. Although many species are solely herbivorous, they can still defend themselves with lethal precision. The carnivorous species are even more dangerous, evolving to kill with the smallest sting to the largest teeth.
Magic is a special property unique to Ademptis, although how it works exactly has yet to be figured out. It is known that magic can be used by any living thing, should it evolve or learn the ability to wield it for passive or aggressive interests.

Arachnacosa– A sentient species that is hostile towards anything other than its own kind. It prefers high altitudes, especially cave systems situated in upper portions of various mountain ranges. It has the upper body of a man and the lower body of a spider due to a abhorred contract between a human and a spider deity of the Deep Ones. The warrior males fight on the frontlines with both capable melee skills and a ranged acid spit, males are also unable to create webbing. The females act as support, creating webbing to bandage up the wounded and assimilate their conquered territory.

Ashstone– A type of stone that was excavated for its special fire resistant properties. It is said to completely negate fire magic and explosions depending on the purity of the stone. In return it has a weakness towards the erosion of wind and water. Realizing the capabilities of Ashstone, many engineers placed the stone in key areas where an explosion might disrupt the balance of a building. It is also quite sturdy, allowing many tons of pressure to be placed upon it without breaking.

Astalto’s Razor– Also known as the Razor of Envy. In order to grant a gift to one of his loyal bishops, the ancient god of Draconic divinity removed one of its fingers, which shrinked into the form of a dagger. The flesh became the hilt and the longer than normal fingernail became the blade. The bishop, named Astalto, graciously accepted the gift and offered eternal loyalty to his god as a skilled assassin. Even in death, Astalto serves his god as a reaper of souls.
Astalto’s Razor had been passed through several hands after Astalto perished with its most recent holder being a human brought over from another world. It was said to have the ability to absorb partial amounts of strength from beings that the current holder held, granting its user strength and power with every kill Once the razor passes into a new hand, the strength borrowed from the souls is given back and released. Even with that power, the user must train himself mentally in order to not be overwhelmed by the hatred and enmity of those slain by the blade.

B

Blaze Crystal– A type of rock formation which is also named “frozen fire.” Although deposits of it are incredibly rare, it was widely mined for its ability to easily produce sparks and create fires. It is said that placing a crystal in the middle of easily burnable substances and leaving it there in moderately high temperature is enough to make it catch fire. Thus you never see blaze crystals in a warm environment.

C

Chisis Plant– A type of bush that grows large oily seeds that provide protein and nutrients as if it was both meat and a vegetable. It reproduces through being eaten. Excrement left behind by a being that ate one of the seeds will help fertilize the remains of the seed as long as if the deposit is in a suitable location with supple earth, exposure to light, and underground water.

D

Dhampir– A race born from the union of a vampire and human. Other variations of half vampire species are notoriously dangerous, but none meet the potential of a dhampir. Dhampirs possess only strengths of vampires and humans, they do not have any of their weaknesses. From the vampires, dhampirs have the power of both day walkers and night walkers, thus they are not weakened at any time of the day. From vampires, they have abnormal strength, blood regeneration, night vision, natural dark magic affinity, and wing flight. From humans they possess evolutionary capabilities, blessed aptitude for mundane and arcane advancement, and other such visionary qualities. Like vampires, dhampirs are given a coffin upon birth will be their main sleeping area until they designate a new coffin as their bed via a ritual. Also, when a dhampir comes of age, they choose a weapon which they will always know the location of and can never break until the dhampir itself dies.

Doblin– A short humanoid monster that ranges from three to three and a half feet tall at their maturity’s peak. They often form small compounds of up to ten families each which interbreed mindlessly in order to ensure their groups ongoing survival. Even the smartest doblin only has half the intelligence of a mentally disabled human. They use whatever supplies they can scavenge and only show an ability to pick up objects as tools like sticks and rocks instead of combining the two to create a more efficient tool. Doblins are hostile to any living creature except to other doblins from their compound. They do have an unusual sense of smell and often uses it to identify females from other species which they try, and usually end up failing, to capture for breeding purposes. They attempt to mate with any female of any species aside from those that are physically too large or small. To compensate for their high amount of deaths per compound, their children are birthed in many and grow up fast, usually to end up being dead way or another very quickly. The average lifespan of a doblin is three months, though there has never been a recorded instance of a doblin actually dying of old age aside from those in captivity.

E

The Elder Cloud Wyvern is as the same suggests, an older, larger, and more powerful member of the species. Clouds Wyverns normally have long and thin body akin to a snake. Special varieties of the Cloud Wyverns include those who grew up on thunderclouds and thus gain a natural ability to wield thunder magic.

Evoants– The evoant is a type of insectoid that evolved over a quick amount of time due to the interference of a powerful archmage. From a distance, the evoant resembles a humanoid from a distance, but it is clear that it is not up close. They are bipedal with two sets of arms for a total of six limbs. Their tiered chitinous armor provides protection far superior to any forged plates of metal. Although they are very susceptible to an attack on their joints.
Evoants form small nomadic groups (for ants) of up to a hundred to five hundred which scour the areas they move through for food for their queen. Their keen senses assist them in hunting down living animate or inanimate sources of food. Evoants are stronger and faster than normal humanoids. They also have an unusual dislike for entering any unground system that is not their original home. They only make their homes in their original cave system and thus keep on moving until they die of fatigue, of outside influence, or eventually move back to their original home.

F

Fountaine, the Decayed One– A human archmagus turned vampire lord who raised and managed to cast an exospheric death spell which  fielded a massive army of undead to fuel his ambition of creating a nation for solely undead citizens. Undead creatures of many types that had freewill flocked to his banner. His legions of undead fought successful battles in many theatres, mainly against the human and avian empires. In his bid to establish firm borders, Fountaine earned the ire of more nations and every single military force which believed undead to be unnatural. In the end, Fountaine’s ambitions fell apart four years after they began. This sparked debates among many philosophers and thinkers which questioned the morality of committing genocide on freethinking individuals, even if they were undead.

Garavan’s Masque – A mask crafted by the famous human playwright Garavan Kinton for personal usage. Due to Garavan’s obsessive desire to understand the emotions of various races, some of his obsession was poured into the mask. The result of this unique enchantment allowed the mask to change the emotion on the mask to the one most strongly felt by the wearer, although only among the four basic emotions of happiness, sorrow, anger, and surprise.
This is not all. Each of the four emotions carries unique physical and mental enhancements that depend on the wearer’s emotional intensity on how useful they are. Happiness allows the wearer to effectively manipulate the minds of others, how many minds depend on the wearer’s mental fortitude. Sorrow allows the wearer to predict events up to weeks ahead; the predicted events are more accurate depending on the distance in time. Anger allows the wearer to amplify their body’s physical capabilities with the limit depending on how angry the wearer is. Surprise allows the wearer to heighten their mental and physical reflexes and awareness. Although only a rumor, it is said that Garavan’s Masque was blessed by the human god of emotions, Whimsyl.

Godkin– Beings holding strange powers gifted from the gods themselves. It was first believed that chosen heroes held these abilities and that these people were messiahs of the gods themselves. However, further evidence suggested that these special abilities were granted to those that could best utilize them. A famous godkin proved this theory when he turned his special power which allowed him to shift tectonic plates to a certain degree against the human empire, thus branding him an enemy of humans and ultimately the gods themselves.
The special powers given to godkin are usually the embodiment of a certain god’s concept. For example, the god of disease’s godkin would most likely be given the power to create a new disease or change aspects of other diseases to make them more or less harmful.

H

The Hanging Cemetery of Ladia– The Ladia family is an ancient coven of dhampirs that were rumored to be born and laid to rest in the sky. Not much is known about them, as they interacted very little with anyone outside of their circle of foes and family like other dhampirs or vampires and select humans. The Ladia family members specialized in spear techniques and low aerial combat and were sought after as teachers. They are believed to have perished along with the extinction of humans.

I

Itome, Evoant Queen– While being the oldest, was also considered the most immature and paranoid of the queens that numbered around forty strong. She was the firstborn evoant queen from the malicious experiment intended to instantly move humanity a step further in evolution. And from her brood many queens were born, many of which died and several of which had moved on to form their own broods. Gradually over centuries, evoants shifted from resembling humans to there being Avian and Elven hybrids to even dragon hybrids. If there was a monster with a desire to create children and the evoant queen was compatible enough with that monster to share genes, then they could procreate and form a new breed of evoants. Where Itome had made her home after such a long time since her birth remained a mystery. And while she sometimes visited other queens which were all technically descended from her, they shared no relation in the end. Sick of giving birth after birth, Itome and her last child queen nestled into their nest where they lived for several years until Itome’s death by the hands of Rainier Forrester.

Karkans– A race of warlike beings descended from the ancient draconic race. Their culture revolves around bloodshed and being the strongest race of beings around, however the corruption of Ademptis proved to be an annoying adversary. S

Silver Star Inquisition– A special group of inquisitors disliked the tolerance towards half-human species, dhampirs in particular. They made it their order’s goal to completely eradicate such subspecies. Unfortunately for them, dhampirs were impossible to kill by normal means, thus they only way to dispatch them was to seal them until lethal measure could be taken. Some of their most notable achievements were the destruction of the Prismatic Castle, which housed numerous half human and avian refugees. They were also attributed to the sealing of several dhampir families’ such as the Astora, Vrokar, and Ladia families.

Spiny Sweet Fern– A plant that grows elongated fruit with needles protecting its outsides. U

V

Vectoir– The first and only major city of note on the Roseir Plateau. What was once a citadel for humans slowly developed over decades into a metropolis for mainly humans with the addition of other major races, most notably the karkans. Vectoir was also the first city to detach itself from the human empire during its collapse, soon falling prey to Ademptis’ corruption. The city finally lost its last little vestige of civilization from aggressive raids by arachs, a new hive of evoants, and a force led by genocidal intent karkans. Recently, Vectoir has taken over by karkans in order to gain more territory.

The only way to survive touching a poisonfinger is to completely sever the contaminated flesh whether it is a small chunk or an entire limb. Very few species have found a way to make use or avoid the poisonous substance.
